Occupancy – Maximum occupancy is 4 people. However, special prices are given according to the number of occupants
mentioned prior to check-in, which will not be able to be changed after checking in without increasing the nightly rate. Each
additional person (within the max 4 limit) comes at an additional charge of $50 USD + VAT per night. Visitors who have not paid
to stay the night, will NOT be allowed to if management has not received full payment. Please consult with management prior
to rental regarding the maximum capacity per unit to avoid any disappointment.
• Pets are allowed. However, the client will be responsible for any damages IF there are any.
• Loud parties and gatherings are STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
• The management and staff at The River Bank hold no responsibility for any loss or damage of personal belongings.
Each tenant must secure their belongings appropriately and prevent temptations to the staff.
Main Folding Doors – Vincent can show you how to open the main folding doors as it’s a bit complicated. We request you to
close the doors at around 6:30pm due to mosquitos and may reopen them as early as 6:30am. During the day they can remain
open, however, please BE AWARE of monkeys wanting to enter into the house, especially if they find food.
Solar – All lights are on motion detection. If you turn the lights on, the will turn off if and when they do not detect any motion
after a period of time. All sockets are calculated by wattage, if you surpass the power limit, the power will automatically switch
off to protect the solar system. Please refrain from using high voltage items such as a blow dryer, iron, kettle and/or any other
high power consuming items. Sockets are calculated for laptop / phone charging, Wi-Fi router, 1 tv, 1 fridge and other small
items. IF/WHEN these items do come on, a circuit breaker will switch off thepower to safeguard our solar system. We kindly
remind all guests to make a conscience effort to use with care.
·Wall sockets will be able to power personal laptops, iPad and phone charging.
-The River Bank has a solar water tank to heat water for your showers only. Depending on the weather, you may find the water
not as hot or sometimes lukewarm, especially in the mornings.
Housekeeping services are offered every third day. For example, if you book for two nights, there will be no housekeeping
during your stay. If you have booked for a week, you will receive housekeeping services twice a week. Depending on the day you
check in, we will clarify/confirm the days you wish to have housekeeping. All towels in the bathroom and bed linen will be
changed.
Generator – The microwave, washing machine and oven do not currently work as we are still in the midst of setting up the
generator
Amenities – We do not have a swimming pool but we are working in partnership with The Kipling Lodge located roughly 12kms
from The River Bank. They are giving our guests a special offer of $25USD person for a three-course lunch and swimming till
5pm.
WIFI: Guest have access to free wifi at The River Bank however, occasionally, its unstable due to the location and network
unavailability.
DSTV: Guests have access to DSTV connection. At times, the reception is temporarily unavailable due to bad weather.
Party’s & Large Gatherings – NO party’s, loud gatherings and / or visitors are allowed during your stay apart from the number
that is strictly found on the booking.
Campfire – Start time from 6pm onwards. Kindly request from Vincent as to what time you wish to have the fire set up at least
4 hours prior.
Check in check out times – Our check in time is strictly 3pm and check out time is strictly 12pm. Please respect these times so
that we have enough time to prepare for our next guest. Late check out (6pm) is available at 70% of your nightly rate, subject to
availability. Check out later than 6pm will be charged as a full night, also subject to availability. Please inquire with
management to see if acceptable on the date that you wish to extend. If you are not in the house at the time of check out
(12pm) and you are not reachable and the house is booked for 3pm that day, we will pack your things with care and keep them
under lock and key to ensure that we prepare for the next customer at 3pm. Early check in prior to 6am will result a full night
charge of the previous night. Early check in prior to 3pm will result in a charge of 50% of the nightly rate.
Kitchen – A gas cylinder is in place to use to cook on the stovetop. The oven currently is not operational due to the generator
not being setup. If the gas cylinder is out, please call Vincent and he will come to replace it immediately. There is no charge to
replace the gas cylinder.
Access In & Out – Vincent lives just outside of the property and is just a phone call away (0.759.677.460). To enter and exit the
main gate, just honk and someone will come to open/close for you. If you are returning late at night, please call Vincent 5
minutes prior to your arrival so he is there when you arrive. The main gate is to be locked at all times. Access to the gate down
by the river can be opened for those who wish to walk along the pathway or swim in the water. We caution all clients to be very
careful due to the terrain of the pathway. Please instruct Vincent to lock the gate once you return to prevent any security risk.
Swimming in the Nile – We welcome you to swim in the Nile. However, we caution you of the safety due to the strong water
currents and potential risks. We do not have any lifeguards on site so you will be swimming at your own risk.
Legal Liability – The staff and management at The River Bank, Jinja will not be liable for any bodily harm, sickness and/or death
while on the property or in the water, and/or any theft or damages to personal belongings. Each tenant must secure their
belongings appropriately and prevent temptations to the staff.
